A Family is Like a Circle // By Nicole M. O’Neil

A family is like a circle

the connection never ends

and even if at times it breaks

in time it always mends…

Choose to See The Best

The mirror tends to speak the
Truths that you’re too afraid to
Say out loud,
A blunt reminder of adventures lived,
Of years savored,
And of delicious moments ingested
Like fresh fruit,
Sweet and bright—
The mirror has no filter, but it’s
Most often just what we need—
Take a look and see…
Choose to see the best,
And do not fear its honesty,
But be glad that you’re alive to
Witness it.

Summer Memories by Teresa Dearing

Hot pavement burns the feet,

Cool green grass what a treat.

Sand stuck between the toes,

Sun burnt skin on the nose.

Cotton clouds floating by,

Baby blue paints the sky.

Kids running out to play,

School is out, happy day.

Summer smells fill the air,

As we play with out care.

Waiting lines, ice cream stands,

Young and old are the fans.

All nature’s running high,

Summers breeze brush the sky.

Pools and waves cool the skin,

What a day for a friend.

Tired, sleepy children cry,

Once more, they want to try.

Visit family, see friends,

All too soon summer ends.

Soon tired of summer’s heat,

Autumn brings cool relief.

Cool days turn green to gold,

Summer memories~we hold.

Pink Lemonade by Will Brandt ft. Broadway Puppies

Life’s a soiree

Serving pink lemonade

A cascade of champagne

For you and me

Life’s a bouquet

It’s a dance, a ballet

In the rain

Life is a stay

At the beach, by the bay

Holding tight to a kite

On a clear windy day

Life is a play

And the star on Broadway

Is you

Life is a song, just play along

Life is a show that goes on

So just serve yourself

Pink lemonade today

Gradient Hourglass

Some time ago, I remember what my great aunt said:

“Oh, there is more than day and light.”

“Look far beyond what comes to sight.”

At five of age, I went to sleep, head on the bed.

Now prime in youth, my future strong and heart in beat.

“Life complete,” I thought, “Still what could

My dear Aunt Faith have meant. I’m good.”

I’m twenty now, my brain still can’t rest in its seat.

Like stormy clouds, my hair is grey; my tears are pale

“I see what she had meant to say”

The present and the future, day

But past and the old are knights to guide us on our tales.

Always There – Ryan C. Wilks

You’re always there.

When I am sad, mad

or just having a bad day,

You’re always there.

Doesn’t matter what mood I’m in,

You’re always there.

Thank you very much,

I really appreciate it.

I love the friendship we share

but most of all I love you.

You’re always there

The sound of your soothing voice

is like the sound of a chorus of angels

that fill my heart with joy

No matter how far or near,

You’re always there

Forever in my heart

you will be for years and years.

Through thick and thin we will stand.

You’re always there

We will always be friends forever and ever

You’re always there

When it comes down to it,

I will always be there for you

And

You will always be there for me

Don’t lose hope.

Hope Is The Thing With Feathers

Emily Dickinson

‘Hope’ is the thing with feathers—

That perches in the soul—

And sings the tune without the words—

And never stops—at all—

And sweetest—in the Gale—is heard—

And sore must be the storm—

That could abash the little Bird

That kept so many warm—

I’ve heard it in the chillest land—

And on the strangest Sea—

Yet, never, in Extremity,

It asked a crumb—of Me.

What I’ve Become

When I hold my jar of dreams

In my hands, my palms sweaty.

The dancing lights swallow the night,

As a mirror flies my kite,

The gentle waves change roaring tides

and shaking trees leave me to hide;

A swan slows down to calm the pulse

The crow escaped, feeling repulsed.

A ripple wakens me from sleep

Not holding back, I take a leap.

The sun is up, the time has come,

To show the world

I can feel it already

My throat’s closing up, making it harder to breathe

Legs shaking, palms sweating

At this point, anything is better than this

The time of doom approaches

I have to keep telling, reminding myself

Don’t freak out, don’t freak out

But deep down I know I can’t do it

It passes, and it seems like a blur

I walk away from the stress and tears I shed

A smile erupts on my face, and I laugh hysterically,

What was I afraid of again?

Have confidence in your abilities when you’re doing something, it might not be as bad as you think.
