Hardships

We all have our hardships. In the moment, many of us think we are in the worst position ever….But that is not true. We are humans, humans have a way of adapting to the environment. That’s what we have been doing to get this far. We make solutions… we find out ways to get what we need. For example, communication was a huge problem before… before the technology we have now. Many times people weren’t able to get their message in time… and it would be too late. But now there are solutions to many of those problems and you too..no matter your hardship will find a solution to it 🙂 Find a solution that will help you get through what you are going through. There are no boundaries to it… just that you have to try not to think negatively about it.

Believe in yourself… you will get through it.

Here is a quote that I found on: https://www.facebook.com/powerofpositivity/photos/a.162838037370.127541.107787352370/10153256638642371/?type=3

It too talks about making the positive of a bad situation… and how in the end it’s all our choice. We can positively look for a solution for the situation or think negatively about it.

Last summer, I went out of town for a program right when there was a lot of drama in my friend group. Things were really getting heated, and I was so worried that that was all I could think about during the first half of my trip. I didn’t even think about the new people I met at that program, who were really nice and I liked because our experiences were so different that it was interesting. I realized this halfway through my trip, and decided to forget about what was happening at home and to just enjoy my trip and being with these new friends.

Those few days were the highlight of my summer that year, but I realized during those days that I wasn’t a really close member of that friend group because I had been so worried about other things, that I didn’t really hang out with them, so I had only 5 days to become closer with them, and, of course, I ended up being isolated, in a sense, because I didn’t know them as well. I really regretted, and still regret, not focusing on where I was at and who I was with to make memories. It was supposed to be a trip where I could have left my problems behind at home, but instead I took them with me, and it just made a mess for me.

That’s exactly why I feel that we need to live in the moment and constantly make new memories, not just remember old ones. There is something wonderful about every day, and as long as you live in the present, you can find it and remember it. However, if your mind is stuck in the past, you won’t be able to find it.

13414086_575275492634476_748250169_n.jpgIt’s so easy to get caught up in the smallest, most insignificant things in life. It seems like such a big deal that you’re standing out because of something you’re doing or wearing, or that you don’t have any pictures for any social media, or even that you said or did something awkward that you regret. A lot of people (including me at times) are haunted by these social faux pas and can’t seem to forget about it, but I’m here to tell you that it’s only you that remembers it in the long run. Other people don’t care if you say something wrong or stutter a bit too much because they are forgiving and know that it happens sometimes. They’re willing to forget about it; in fact, most people forget about things that others did by the end of the day! So if others can forget about it, you have to too, because as long as you keep thinking about what happened, you won’t be able to move on from it, possibly even causing it to happen again because you’re so nervous about it. You need to forget about it and keep living your life no matter what, because you’re going to mess up small things sometimes, but it’s okay. You’re human. It happens. So don’t dwell on these things, but keep moving forward

The story of the $20 bill

We all have our ups and down. Sometimes we feel like we are only having downs. During these times we feel like we aren’t worth it… we are worthless. But that is NOT TRUE. We are worth the same the same as were in the beginning. We are all worth it… and even if you do feel down… just remember: “We need to have the downs in our lives to appreciate the ups” 🙂

Now… here is “The story of the $20 bill

A well known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20 bill. In the room of 200, he asked. “Who would like this $20 bill?” Hands started going up. He said, “I am going to give this $20 to one of you – but first, let me do this.” He proceeded to crumple the 20 dollar note up. He then asked. “Who still wants it?” Still the hands were up in the air. “Well,” he replied, “what if I do this?” He dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty. “Now, who still wants it?” Still the hands went into the air. “My friends, you have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20. Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We feel as though we are worthless; but no matter what happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value. Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to those who love you. The worth of our lives comes, not in what we do or who we know, but by …WHO WE ARE. You are special – don’t ever forget it.

Gradient Hourglass

Some time ago, I remember what my great aunt said:

“Oh, there is more than day and light.”

“Look far beyond what comes to sight.”

At five of age, I went to sleep, head on the bed.

Now prime in youth, my future strong and heart in beat.

“Life complete,” I thought, “Still what could

My dear Aunt Faith have meant. I’m good.”

I’m twenty now, my brain still can’t rest in its seat.

Like stormy clouds, my hair is grey; my tears are pale

“I see what she had meant to say”

The present and the future, day

But past and the old are knights to guide us on our tales.

Your friends are your light…

Knowing when you are in an unhealthy friendship is probably the most important part of any relationship. Sometimes it’s hard to tell while other times, it may be so blatantly obvious, but you still can’t see it because you are afraid of losing a friend.

Friends are supposed to be your light in the dark, supporting you through life. They aren’t supposed to discourage you from trying new things. They should be on your side, provide you with advice when you are going through a rough time, and protect you from making bad decisions. The tough part about being a friend is that it is hard to know when you are being discouraging, or a conscience for someone you care about. Nevertheless, you should talk to your friends if you are ever in an uncomfortable position with them. A true, caring friend will understand and help you.

I have a friend that I met in Junior High. Because of our similarities, we became close friends in a short period of time. We share everything with each other and she is the best friend I can ever ask for. Because of how close we are, it is often hard for me to see the pessimist that often appears within her. She often discourages me from doing things I want to do, but I often cannot tell if it is because she wants what is best for me or not. Talking things out is the what helped the reason why I still consider her to be my best friend. I know that she cares about me and only wants to help me, because that is what a true friend is. Nevertheless, there are always situations where the decision is yours and it all comes down to what you want. Your friends are there to help guide you down the right path.

Goodnight

Goodnight

Like clouds on the sky

Floating as they fly.

The gentle sunshine from east to west

We wait, as the sun decides to set.

The night awaits you,

The deep, dark blue.

Oh, my darling, my sweet.

Bundled in thick warm fleece.

May no bad dreams awake you.

And may He protect you.

Goodnight, my dear.

Until the morning cheer.
